Class 58 Locomotive Group AGM Meeting 19th October

Our next AGM meeting will take place at Swanwick Junction on the Midland Railway. This will be an opportunity for all Class 58 members to meet the team behind the Class 58 group, learn about ways you can support us, the future of all the preserved Class 58s, and have a chat about Class 58s.

Members can park at Butterly Station and purchase a train ticket (tickets cost £12) and then catch the 11:00 DMU service to Swanwick Junction. The meeting will be held inside the Johnson’s café, and tea, coffee, and other drinks will be available.

Please note there is no vehicle access at Swanwick Junction.

Our main agendas for the meeting are:

a) Welcome and overview report on the activities of the Management Committee from the Chairman.

 

b) Reports from all serving officers.

c) Financial report and confirmation of 2025 annual subscriptions.

 

d) Appointment of the Management Committee.

As part of 5.1 of the Constitution, the following serving officer roles are open for nomination:

· Chairman, Secretary, Publicity, Technical, and Website administrator to retire and offer for re-election (if they wish) in 2025, 2027, etc. - ODD years.

The following serving officer roles are not open for nomination:

· Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and Magazine Editor positions to retire in and offer for re-election (if they wish) in 2026, 2028, etc. - EVEN years.

 

The following nominations have been received by these people to act in the following roles to serve the Group in a voluntary, unpaid status for the next period of two/three years.

 

The role of Treasurer is vacant and open for nominations. Nominations are open for any member of the Class 58 Locomotive to offer assistance with. Please advise the Chairman if you wish to help in any of these roles.

Note: Only Group members are eligible to be nominated for committee positions and only Group members are entitled to vote, and must vote only once per position for their choice in the election of the Management Committee.

 

e) Adoption of updated Class 58 Locomotive Group Constitution

 

f) Consideration of any resolutions put by the membership.

Please note, resolutions that are to be put to the meeting by the membership must be received by the Chairman not later than 30th September 2025, please.

 

g) Any other business.

 

After the meeting, there will be an opportunity to look around the site at Swanwick Junction and visit the Class 58 cab. The return times from Swanwick Junction are as follows:
